Unfortunately, part of travel is dealing with unexpected flight changes and cancellations.
While these situations are completely out of our hands, we will always work with you to find the best solution.
If your flight is cancelled or changed before you've departed*, our first priority is to find replacement flights as quickly and seamlessly as possible.
Many airlines offer alternative flights free of charge and/or automatically rebook you on a similar flight. Whatever happens, we will be in contact immediately with alternatives and options. These replacements tend to sell out quickly, so we always appreciate quick responses!
If your flight is cancelled at the last minute and no alternatives are offered by your airline, we will find the best alternatives and will be in touch with replacement options. Explorers will be responsible for any excess flight costs due to the fact that you are able to apply for compensation and/or claim the cost of new flights from your airline (you can find information on how to do so here). Unfortunately, many airlines make it impossible for us to make claims or apply for compensation on your behalf, so we are unable to cover the entire flight cost and recuperate the expenses for you. In some cases, we will be able to contribute up to £100pp in order to ease the immediate financial impact of booking replacement flights.
Finally, it's important to note that the best way to fully protect yourself in these situations is to buy travel insurance.
